  1. I think the costume look pretty great over all! The right shapes and basic styles at least. I am just impressed by the headwear – that they are actually wearing some most of the time. Most of all, though, I’m pleased that their Henry actually sort of looks the part!

Too bad, from this clip at least, both Natalie Portman and Scarlet Johansen have terrible accents…

  2. Yes, they are wearing headwear which is good — but the French hoods look like the evil plastic visors (shape-wise)! 🙂

  3. Some of the French hoods look like crap (as mentioned elsewhere before), but some of the French hoods look decent. And they have different styles of the English gable, too. Not sure what’s up with the circle dresses. Things went by too quickly to really say what’s up with the costumes, and I didn’t feel like pausing every few seconds to analyze things, but I may anyway.

Generally, it looks better than both the Tudors and Golden Age with the trailer, but I want to see more before I make an opinion on actually trying to see the movie.

  4. You no like? Some of the costumes look nice, I like the French hoods, but others look way too Italian Rennaissance, with the slashing and puffed sleeves etc. I still think it will be okay. Natalie Portman looks the best outa all of them.

  5. I spotted the circle dresses in the preview…look at the arms of the dresses when Anne asks Mary if the King will like her, and her Mary replies “of course sister, how could he not.” They are looking out a window.

  6. I found two more shots of the circle dresses in the preview. Mary is in her gold circle dress as her uncle (or father) congratulates her and tells her she has made a deep impression on the king. Anne’s blue circle dress makes a second appearance while the sisters are arguing. Anne confronts Mary, complaining that the king was ‘besotted’ with Mary after 30 minutes alone in a room with her.

Have fun checking out the dresses!

  7. Well, Henry didn’t his infamous “fat and mutton leg chomping” look until later in life. He was quite the hottie back when he met Anne. He was well known for being really handsome and athletic.
