Frighteningly enough, I’m in the middle of a two week vacation from work and have very little to show for it so far! I’m having a 1960s-themed birthday party in a month, so I’ve been working on my dress. It’s very basic:
I was originally going to go for a more bubble shaped dress, but it wasn’t looking too flattering on these hips o’ mine. So I took the bodice and sleeves of a 1960s dress and stuck them with a 1950s skirt (hey, they were still wearing A-line dresses!) and thankfully it hasn’t turned out too hideous.
But it has taken me the better part of a week, minus Christmas and three days in LA for a wedding over New Year’s! Wah! WHY does it all take so long??!! Especially the patterning, that’s what kills me. The sewing has become just a blip compared to the patterning and mocking up.
But now I’m determined to make some headway, on the undies at least, on my 1909 suit. Le sigh — wish me luck!
