ebay rant

Okay, so there is at least one seller, if not more, on ebay who keeps selling completely and totally available costume books as being “rare and out of print” for very large sums of money! Often the seller(s) (I haven’t paid enough attention to figure out if it’s the same person) doesn’t list the title of the book, or show a picture of the cover — so the buyers are (I assume) unaware of what exactly they are purchasing.

I know ebay is buyer beware, but it really peeves me to see something like this – the Kyoto Fashion book going for $100 when you can get it on Amazon for $27.99. I’ve thought about writing the seller and/or buyers to let them know what’s really going on, but I suppose it’s not really any of my business if the buyers don’t bother to research what they’re buying.

So this is just a plea — before you buy any book on ebay, PLEASE PLEASE A) find out the TITLE of what it is you are actually buying, and then B) check a price compare site like BookFinder before you bid.
