I’m in love! Oh BBC, how do I love thee? So much so that my toes are just twinkling as I watch Berkeley Square! I’ve been eyeing this DVD for a year or two now, but because it wasn’t available through NetFlix I’d just wondered if it was any good. In a random consumerist moment I just decided to buy it, and I’m so glad I did!

In addition to being a darn good story, the costumes are just FABULOUS. It’s a story of three nannies working in Edwardian London, and the series shows both the servants (in fabulous tailored jackets, shirtwaists, and skirts) and the people they work for (in fabulous gowns — okay, yes, there are boys too. Boys = zzzzz).

In other news, Dickens Fair starts this weekend — I’ve finished all of my odds and ends for my costume, including making an indoor cap that looks a bit like a tea cozy. I will post photos after next weekend.

Also, my hand is mysteriously better, so I will get cracking on finishing my robe a la francaise and my 1830s dress!
