As always, a lovely time was had at Gatsby! Wonderful food and drink plus fabulous companions, beautiful environs, and great music always make for a fabulous time. I even made it on a house tour for the first time, and got to see the inside of the lovely Dunsmuir House. Can we do it every month?

Speaking of which, has anyone tried their lipsticks? It looks like the reds are a lot brighter than their color swatches (compare the color swatches to their models (again, you may have to register) — I’m a cranberry girl rather than an orange-red girl — but I’m tempted to try their Merlot shade. Anyways!

Let’s just say — hypothetically — that if one were making a new lightweight coat from the retro 1940s Butterick pattern out of cotton velvet and lined with china silk, but being very naughty and not blogging it because one was tired and just needed to crank it out so one would have a coat to wear this winter, would one want to interline it (for shaping purposes, not warmth)?
