Costume College classes

Since everyone else is posting about them… just got my confirmation on the classes I’ll be teaching this year at Costume College. I’m super excited that it’s one per day, which means no day will be particularly stressful! Yay! I’ll be doing: “Turkish Influence on 18th Century Fashion & the Zone Bodice” (unlimited, Friday), “Draping the 18th Century Robe à la Française” (limited, Saturday), “1770s Big Hair – How to Style a Wig into a ‘Pouf'” (limited, Sunday). It’s all 18th c., all the time around here, kids!

  1. Hmmm… should I try to get into your francaise class or just keep bribing you to drape them on me???

  2. I just know that all of my classes are going to conflict with everyone else’s cool classes… Damn it!

So now you’re really going to have to give me “private lessons” in wig styling, because that’s the one class of yours I want but can’t have! Bastards!

  3. Kendra, I would love to take your francaise class but I’m teaching around noon each day. When does your class run?

Oh, and your 18th C. hair class on Sunday last year was great! Can’t wait to try out the techniques you gave on hedgehog hair.

  4. I am terribly interested in learning more about you and where you teach and how you learned all this. Please tell me more or may I call you sometime?
    Sincerely,
    Flora SPector

  5. all 18th c. all the time…sigh, sounds lovely! Costume Collage is something I hope one day I can attend. your classes sound great!

  6. Jennifer: times are:
Turkish Influence on 18th Century Fashion & the Zone Bodice: Friday 2:30 PM – 1:50 PM

Draping the 18th Century Robe à la Française: Saturday 9:00 AM – 12:50 PM

    1770s Big Hair – How to Style a Wig into a “Pouf": Sunday : 11:00 AM – 12:50 PM

  7. Flora: that’s a big question! In terms of where I teach, I teach for GBACG, Costume College, occasionally Costume Con, and would be happy to teach elsewhere. In terms of where I learned this stuff, my FAQ goes into some of it: http://demodecouture.com/faq.html

  8. I live in North Carolina, but I have an internship in LA this summer, and I’m so super excited because this means I get to go to Costume College!! I’m very much looking forward to taking your classes, they sound awesome.
