  2. J: you can get nicely scented babypowder at your local drugstore, OR Colonial Williamsburg sells powder in violet/rose/lavender scents, OR Bumble & Bumble makes hair powder if various hair-colored colors (I think they have a white too? Or if not, blonde). Those are the resources I know of!

  4. Trixi – I’m sure you could use a rat, but it would be hard to figure out the shape and get it to hold. But sure, same concept!

  5. I suspect a cone constructed of hat-making buckram would also work well in place of the wire armature. Might be lighter, I don’t know.

    Tends to be white, however, and may show through the hair unless you paint it.
