  1. Ralph amazed, Keira pleasantly surprised (not a big fan) and the costumes left me a little (ok, alot), drooley around the edges. Oh, and the story was well portrayed – (’cause it’s not all about the costumes you know….well actually..) I saw it the day it opened and have been awaiting your post – yay! Funnily enough, the first thing I did when I got home was hit the Duran website for a comparison look…..didn’t find any exact matches on the website – they must have gone into their secret stash though I agree.

  2. Just for some more movie news!! I live in canada and our movie channels have started playing “affinity”, which I didn’t think would be on for quite some time!!

  3. Re: Lost in Austen–Haven’t seen it yet, probably won’t bother, based on your review.

Point of interest–doesn’t it seem kind of absurd that a modern girl who loved the works of Jane Austen wouldn’t JUMP at the chance to wear the clothes, hair and makeup? Honestly. Those of us who are fans of old-timey things only refrain from dressing old-timey in everyday life because of the practical demands of everyday life (and because people would think we were crazy). Hell, we even create/attend events just so we have an excuse to put our hair up! I guess the writers of the show were trying to make a point, but even without seeing the movie I don’t buy the behavior of the heroine.

  4. I was -literally- gasping and squealing and making a fool of myself when i saw the luscious stripey dress with the *chevron* stripe back yoke she wore. I die!
