Masterpiece Theatre 2007 Schedule Is Out!

Yay costume movies! They’ll be showing the new BBC miniseries of Jane Eyre, plus The Sally Lockhart Mysteries: The Ruby in the Smoke (some sort of Victorian era mystery starring Billie Piper), the new BBC miniseries of Dracula (with Sophia Myles), and the new BBC miniseries The Wind in the Willows with Bob Hoskins. Repeats include Carrie’s War, The Virgin Queen, and Kidnapped. Get your Tivo’s ready!

Here’s the full schedule. There’s info on many of these on my upcoming movies page.

  1. Oh, G*d. Just what the world needs: Another Jane Eyre and another Dracula. When will it ever end! There is a reason I support extended copyright laws. This is it personified. Wind in the Willows, though! Yay!

  2. I know the Sally Lockhart Mysteries are by Philip Pullman, but I haven’t read them. I’ve read another trilogy of his called His Dark Materials, and they are definitely (imho, speaking as an avid reader) some of the best books ever written. The first one is being made into a movie starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, and Eva Green. I hope this miniseries will be good. I know it’s set in the first bustle/natural form era.

  3. The Sally Lockhart books are made of awesome! I’m looking forward to the movie, expecially if they costumed it the way I picture in my head ;o)

  4. This is the last 4 months of good British TV- I think WinW was on a couple of days ago. Hmm. I would recommend Jane Eyre as the best, with Ruby a close second. Dracula was disappointing, Wind didn’t appeal to me. Hope you enjoy them!
