COMMENTARY

upcoming projects & shameless commercialism

So I’m back from Costume College with my mind all abuzz with new costume ideas. I’ve added a list of my rough costuming plans for the next millennium to my about the seamstress page (seemed like as good a place to stick it as any) — I’m mostly excited about 1900s and 1910s right now (just found this fabric which will be perfect for a late 1900s suit a la Maggie Smith in Room with a View).

However, I’m also really tired and burned out, and I’ve realized I’m probably NOT going to kill myself to get my 1560s Nuremberg dress done by this weekend (when GBACG is going to the Heart of the Forest Faire). I think I’m going to do the sensible thing and skip the event, and just relax!

BUT all my costuming ideas mean that I need fabric, and fabric needs money! So if you’re interested in contributing to the Buy Kendra Some Silk Charmeuse fund, you can check out my listings on ebay. I’m selling a vintage 1940s dress, my 1840s evening dress, a black satin corset (28″ waist), and enough leftover fabric from my 1830s day dress to make an 18th century jacket or something similar.
